I've been playing and tinkering with guitars for over 20 years. The guitar is a fascinating instrument, capable of producing a wide array of sounds and able to stand out in nearly any musical genre. I've enjoyed learning how to setup and care for my own guitars nearly as much as I've enjoyed learning to play.
I was introduced to the art of Luthiery through a 3-day guitar building workshop led by Dale Unger at the Nazareth Guitar Institute (www.americanarchtop.com) in 2015. I was immediately hooked!
In 2019, I began to formally pursue guitar building by completing a 12 month Luthier training program, led by master builder Ari Lehtela in Charlotte, NC (www.telaguitar.com). The result of that course was the hand crafted instrument shown here! I still play that same guitar almost daily.
At present, I am content to be a hobby builder, producing only 2 to 3 guitars per year. I have carefully documented my build process and estimate that each instrument takes 80 to 100 hours of labor. My goal is to enjoy the build process of each guitar, resulting in exceptional instruments that I can be proud of and others will enjoy! Ultimately, my instruments are made to be played, intended to provide a lifetime of inspiration and joy to their owners.
